    • Characteristics of the vintage

Temperatures were high in Tokaj in 2024, which was overall the hottest year on record, and rainfall was average. The combination of heavy rainfall in June and hot weather resulted in high humidity, which led to massive attacks of powdery mildew. Some plots suffered significant losses. July and August were dry and scorching hot, with maximum temperatures regularly exceeding 30 and even 35˚C. Every phenological stage throughout the year occurred earlier than average.
Despite the atypical conditions of 2024, with an early growth cycle in the vineyard and high temperatures, the dry white wines are nonetheless fresh and rich.

    • Harvest

Manual harvest of fully ripened, healthy bunches in small boxes of 20 kg (44 lbs) between the 27th of August and 9th of September. Many different plots of the Disznókő vineyard were harvested and vinified separately.

    • Vinification

The fruits of the different plots were vinified separately. The grapes were full bunch pressed (directly without destemming), allowed to settle for a night and then fermented in stainless steel vats at a temperature controlled between 16-18°C (61-64 F). No malolactic fermentation.

    • Blend

      100% Furmint

    • Maturing

The different lots were blended in November and the wine was aged on its fine lees in stainless steel vats for 4 months. Bottled in April 2025 in 750 ml Tokaji bottle with glass stoppers.

    • Tasting notes

Straw-yellow robe with green reflex. The nose is fresh and fruity, with green apple, grapefruit, almond, stone fruits and pear aromas together with some herbal and vegetal hints like green spices. On the palate, it has round acidity with saline notes combined with a good mouth filling and pleasant texture, leading to a good mineral finish.
