DISZNÓKŐ TOKAJI ASZÚ 5 PUTTONYOS
The Disznókő personality of the vintage
“You can compare the fluidity of this vintage to a river where the fresh waters run smoothly, one way, never ending. 2006 is a vintage with fluidity and balance. The wines have delightfully fresh acidity and a very precise texture.”
The vintage conditions at Disznókő and the influence on the wines
“2006 was a great year for Disznókő, quite similar to 2005. After a long and very cold winter, the budding and flowering were late. Despite this late start, the grapes began to ripen early, and we enjoyed a remarkably beautiful Indian summer. Apart from some light rain, typically sunny and warm days were followed by cool nights during the harvest season. Hence the quality of the aszú grapes was just perfect: the berries shades of purple, the texture of the flesh like jam, and the seeds brown and crispy. Exactly what we would expect from a perfect crop.”
