An artisan market is held monthly on the Disznókő estate as we recognize the need for supporting a strong local economy as key to a thriving region. Local craftsmen and women bring their handmade products: cheeses and meats, jams and honeys, wine vinegars and oils (including grapeseed), (organic) fruits and vegetables, spelt flour and pillows… as well as pottery, soap, toys, jewellery – and lots more! Visitors can discover some of the treasures available in the Tokaj Wine Region, as well as meet their skilled creators. This deepens links between producer and consumer, facilitates feedback and exchange of knowledge and also is a key element in community building.

Each market has a theme as well as extra events such as exhibitions, discussions and live music too. Since the market is at the gateway to the historic Tokaj Wine Region it seemed appropriate to organise wine tastings for producers in addition to the host Disznókő. Most of the region’s leading producers have been guests. For more about what’s on offer:
