2003 is definitely a solar vintage. The kind where you have both smoothness and roundness, a feeling of delightful comfort like relaxing into a velvet sofa. These Aszú wines seem to plunge you into spicy depths with their intense, opulent palate and velvety structure surrounded by a very dynamic acidity that surrounds the wine with freshness.

Tokaj, as throughout Europe in 2003, experienced extreme weather conditions. The summer heat and drought was somewhat less intense in the region than elsewhere. Consequently, the Disznókő vineyards suffered less. The great heat brought earlier ripening than ever before; the harvest started a month or so earlier than usual. The fervent sun brought us profound and mellow wines.
